This past Sunday was 30th Anniversary of A Toast to the Triangle, and Yo Momma had the pleasure of attending. It’s a large food and beverage event here in the Raleigh area, benefiting a very worthy cause the Tammy Lynn Center for Development Disabilities. You can find out more on their website http://www.atoasttothetriangle.org/, and if you want, Yo Momma urges you to make a donation.
I was asked to attend by a wonderful bakery in the area, La Farm. They were serving Monte Cristo sandwiches, and they wanted my Raspberry Chipotle Pepper Jelly to accompany their entree. For those not familiar with the sandwich it is a fried ham and a variation of the French croque-monsieur. La Farm’s version was served on their white chocolate baguette, with Gruyere, ham, turkey, bacon, and a dijon vinaigrette. It was a lovely combination of flavors, and I was so proud to help them.
We served hundreds of sandwiches, AND the sandwiches were a hit with the crowd and judges!! La Farm won Best Entree, and the People’s Choice awards! How awesome is that? 🙂 I would like to think that my jelly was the perfect addition to the sandwich, but that would be selfish. No, it just happened to be the right combination of flavors that gave them an edge, and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to help a worthy cause. Giving of yourself, believing in yourself, and helping others is what matters most in life, so says Yo Momma!
Those cute boys Tristan and Chris, they were AWESOME SAUCE to work with! Yo Momma LOVES to work with nice people, thanks La Farm for the opportunity! Sharing is caring, and I so love to share 🙂
Be healthy, happy, and eat well!
